Welcome to our barn owl house located in Northern California's Bay Area, just South of San Francisco. The barn owls are free to come and go as they please. We only built the house to invite them, and the rest is up to them. We do not engage or interfere with the barn owls in any way. Please take note, that as we witness the daily jobs of them raising their young, we also witness the daily struggles and cycle of life and death in detail and in real-time.
Romeo and Juliet's 2019 spring clutch produced 6 eggs, but only 1 fledged, Rosalie. It was a difficult season for the nest with our prolonged cold and rain, making hunting difficult.
As of the beginning of May 2019, Romeo and Juliet have started their summer clutch. Rosalie is also still very active in and around the nest, making this summer clutch an interesting and new experience here at SVN.
