anne arundel county news Man impersonated police, extorted money from Hispanic businesses, police say

Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public's help after they said a police imposter bilked Hispanic businesses out of money. Christopher A. Jefferson, 41, of Hanover, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of theft, two counts of fraud, possession of bulletproof armor, four counts of impersonating a police officer and possession/use of a false government identification. Police said the department's Homeland Security Division received information on July 23 about a man impersonating police and extorting money from Hispanic business owners from Brooklyn Park to Laurel.
